Post-Publication Discussion Policy
Andalas Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (AJEEET) welcomes rigorous scholarly discussion, technical feedback, and constructive critique concerning its published articles. This policy is aligned with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and should be read in conjunction with AJEEET’s Publication Ethics, Allegations of Research Misconduct, and Correction, Withdrawal, and Retraction Policies.
-
Submitting a Comment / Letter to the Editor:
Scholarly comments should be submitted by email to the editorial office at
ajeeet@ft.unand.ac.idwith the subject line “Post-Publication Discussion: [Article Title / DOI]”. The submission must include the commenter's full name, institutional affiliation, official contact details, and precise details of the article in question (title, volume, issue, and DOI). -
Requirements and Standards:
Submissions must directly address the scientific or technical content, methodology, data interpretation, or conclusions presented in the original article. Comments must provide a substantive academic contribution, be fully supported by empirical evidence or reliable citations, and maintain a respectful, professional tone. Defamatory remarks, personal attacks, and promotional or commercial materials will be rejected immediately. Commenters must also provide an explicit declaration disclosing any competing or conflicting interests (financial or non-financial).
-
Editorial Evaluation & Handling:
The Editorial Board assesses all submissions to evaluate whether the comment represents a valid scholarly debate, an unintentional error, or a potential ethical issue. Suitable comments will be shared with the corresponding author of the original paper, who will be invited to formulate a formal response within a specified timeframe (typically 14–30 calendar days). Where deemed appropriate, both the critique and the authors' response may undergo editorial/peer review and be published concurrently, cross-referenced and linked to the original published paper on the OJS portal. Any editor holding a conflict of interest will recuse themselves from managing the exchange.
-
Actions Upon Identifying Substantive Errors or Concerns:
If post-publication examination identifies significant errors, methodological oversights, or ethical breaches that impact the scientific validity of the article, the editorial team will take appropriate action in compliance with COPE flowcharts. Depending on the gravity of the finding, outcomes include:
-
Corrigendum / Erratum: To rectify verified typographical, calculation, or technical errors that do not undermine the overall findings.
-
Expression of Concern: Issued if an inquiry is inconclusive or ongoing regarding substantial doubts over validity or integrity.
-
Retraction: Enacted if findings are proven invalid, plagiarized, fabricated, or severely compromised.
-
-
Scope and Limitations:
Post-publication discussion functions solely as an academic forum for scholarly critique. It is not designed to replace formal investigations into suspected research misconduct. Allegations involving plagiarism, falsification, data fabrication, or authorship malpractice must be filed confidentially under the Allegation of Research Misconduct Protocol directly to the Editor-in-Chief.
-
Documentation and Records:
The AJEEET editorial office systematically archives all correspondence, submitted comments, author rebuttals, and subsequent editorial resolutions to ensure full accountability and auditability.
